Yew ( Taxus Baccata ) aka. " The king of hedges"

Taxus baccata  ( yew) is known as the king of hedges and rightly so.  

It is a native irish plant. It is considered an excellent choice for a formal hedge and very elegant looking when clipped.

Plant 18 to 24 inches apart

Like all plants is will grow as good as the soil it is grown in, so loosen a trench with 2 foot  in depth of good rich topsoil and keep it watered during any dry spell until establlished. Give it a suitable feed each year.

Care
Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season. A soaker hose is ideal for delivering slow, even moisture directly to the roots. Add mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and reduce weeds. Prune in late spring or summer to maintain the desired height and shape.
